According to The National Retail Federation’s (NRF) annual Holiday Consumer Spending Survey, the average shopper is expected to spend $172.74 on gift cards this holiday season—driving total spend on cards to $31.74 billion. The most requested item eight years in a row, gift cards are on the wish lists of 62 percent of shoppers this year. Recognizing this potential, retailers and restaurants are leveraging CashStar’s marketing capabilities to power their holiday offers and incentives.

Retailer and restaurant promotions will be running at various times during the holiday season. Some of the promotions that are currently live include:
The Cheesecake Factory – From November 28 to December 31, receive a bonus eSlice of Joy digital gift card for every $25 in gift cards purchased. Each eSlice of Joy Card is redeemable for one slice of The Cheesecake Factory’s legendary cheesecake beginning January 1 through March 29, 2015.
The Children’s Place – November 4 to December 31, get a $10 promo card for every purchase of $40 or more (one per transaction).
Landry’s – From November 10 to December 24, buy a $50 gift card and receive a $10 Reward Card. Landry’s owns and operates over 40 unique brands such as Morton’s The Steakhouse, McCormick & Schmick’s, Mastro’s Restaurants, Landry’s Seafood, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and Rainforest Café.
P.F. Chang’s – From November 1 to December 31, for every $100 in gift cards purchased, buyers will receive a $20 Bonus Card.
Papa John’s – From November 24 to December 31, get a free large, 1-topping pizza when you buy $25 in Papa John’s gift cards.
Staples – From December 14 to December 20, receive a $20 Promotional Card card for purchasing $100 in Staples digital gift cards (limited quantity of ePromo Cards available!). Limit of two ePromo Cards per customer for use at Staples stores and Staples.com between January 2 and January 31, 2015.
In addition, several retailers have teamed with CashStar and Google Wallet to provide promotional cards that can easily be saved and redeemed via the Wallet app.
Regal Cinemas – For purchasing $50 or more on a Regal Cinemas digital gift card between November 24 and December 26, gift card buyers will receive a Promotional Concessions Card for use at Regal Cinemas Concessions.
Sephora – For purchasing $25 or more on a Sephora digital gift card between November 24 and December 26, gift card buyers will receive a $5 Promo Card for use at U.S. Sephora stores, on Sephora.com and at Sephora inside JCPenney stores.
All Regal and Sephora promotional cards must be saved to Google Wallet in order to redeem the offer prior to their January 31, 2015 expiration. CashStar announced its real-time digital gifting platform’s full integration with Google Wallet in July. The integration enables brands on the CashStar platform to offer digital gift card recipients the ability to easily save their eGift Cards to Google Wallet, where they can store and manage gift cards alongside loyalty program cards and offers.
