Matt Kerper Joins CashStar as Vice President of Strategic Business Development

Payments Veteran from PayPal, Google and Parago Brings Deep Industry Experience to Prepaid Commerce Leader

CashStar, the industry-leading provider of prepaid commerce solutions, today announced that it has appointed Matt Kerper as vice president of strategic business development. Kerper brings 20 years of prepaid and payments industry experience to CashStar, where he will lead efforts in establishing and growing strategic partnerships.

Most recently, Kerper served as director, gift cards for eBay, where he led business development for the eBay gift card in retail, B2B and online channels and third-party gift card distribution on the eBay marketplace. Prior to eBay, he was head of sales, prepaid programs for PayPal, driving revenue growth and managing strategic partnerships for a suite of retail products including the PayPal prepaid MasterCard, the My Cash card and related cash-in products.

Kerper also worked in business development on Google’s GeoCommerce team, where he focused on Google Wallet and was responsible for the partnerships with financial institutions and processors within the debit, credit and prepaid industries. He joined Google after its acquisition of TxVia, where he was vice president of business development. Before joining TxVia, Kerper was vice president, rewards strategy and innovation for Parago, a provider of reward-based incentives and rebate solutions.
