CashStar, the digital gifting and incentives company, today announced that it has brought together the industry’s top influencers and retailers for the world’s first event exclusively focused on the e-gifting industry. Taking place today in CashStar’s headquarter city of Portland, Maine, the CashStar Retailer Roundtable has brought thought leaders together to brainstorm the future of digital gifting with a focus on mobile and social channels.
Retailers from across the country have gathered to participate in today’s first of its kind digital gifting discussions, including representatives from Best Buy, Brinker International Restaurants, The Cheesecake Factory, CVS/pharmacy, Dell, Gap, The Home Depot, Lands’ End, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Staples, Starbucks and Williams-Sonoma, among others. CashStar partners Great Lakes Scrip and SVM will also be in attendance.
Sue Chernoff, partner and executive vice president of marketing at Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, Inc., one of the nation’s top white tablecloth restaurant groups with more than 75 restaurant locations, comments, “I’m looking forward to attending this first-of-its-kind event geared exclusively at the digital gifting industry. I expect to learn a lot from my peers across various industries on best practices for implementing smart gifting strategies as we prepare to launch our own eGift Card offering on the CashStar platform later this summer.”
The day will kick off with Forrester Vice President, Principal Analyst Sucharita Mulpuru’s keynote address on the state of online marketing as it pertains to social and mobile gifting.
Other speakers include:
- Harvard Business School Professor John Deighton, who will speak on the implications that Groupon and other deal sites have on national retailers
- Coupons, Inc. CTO Steve Horowitz (previously led the engineering team for Google’s development of the Android platform), who will present the impact of mobile technologies on retail in a live demo format
- Urban Wallace Associates Founder Roger Urban, who will unveil new consumer research that reveals who the high-value eGift Card buyers are and, moreover, how to market to this important audience
CashStar executives will lead additional sessions on holiday readiness and best practices for preventing gift card fraud, as well as give attendees a look at the product roadmap for the CashStar Digital Gifting and Incentives Platform. Two roundtable discussions will be held to explore the hot button digital gifting issues affecting retailers today with participants from Twitter, Dell, Gap, Starbucks, Forrester and others.
“Digital gifting is rapidly emerging and, as market leaders, we wanted to bring our top clients and thought leaders together to engage in discussions on the best strategies and tactics for transitioning from physical gifts and plastic-based gift cards to the new age of mobile, social and e-gifting,” said CashStar Co-founder and CEO David Stone. “I’m especially proud to welcome our retail clients to our beautiful headquarter city of Portland for this event and share the local culture with them.”
