Paybefore has chosen the CashStar-powered £10 Starbucks Card eGift for £5 LivingSocial Deal as a 2013 Paybefore Awards Europe Best-in-Category winner for Best Gift Card or Voucher Program. The awards are presented annually by Paybefore, whose publications are the leading source of industry information for alternative payments executives.

The £10 Starbucks Card eGift for £5 LivingSocial Deal was selected by a panel of five industry experts who served as judges for this year’s competition, which included a record number of entries from around the world. The program delivered 64,565 Starbucks Cards from November 29 to December 1, 2012 and was powered by CashStar’s eGifting platform and LivingSocial’s daily deal engine.
“The judges were impressed with this program because it drove immediate sales and consumer interest in the digital channel, paving the way for increased adoption,” said Loraine DeBonis, Paybefore editor-in-chief and chair of the judging panel.

A similar program was also deployed in the US, during September 4-5, 2012. That $10 Starbucks Card eGift for $5 LivingSocial Deal resulted in 1.5 million eGifts purchased in 29 hours, won Best in Category for Best Virtual or Digital Program in the US 2013 Paybefore Awards, and helped LivingSocial set the Guinness World Record for the most online vouchers sold in a 24 hour period.
