Agile SCRUM Master for the Solution Delivery team by day and avid telemark skier on winter weekends.
How did you come to work at CashStar?
I worked at a startup in Massachusetts for eight years. I loved the company but spent a lot of time commuting. When I moved to Maine for a lifestyle change a former supervisor from the Massachusetts start up connected me with his son who worked at CashStar. I really like the energy and excitement that comes from working at a startup, so I applied for a job and the rest is history.
What do you do at CashStar?
I am the Senior Manager of the Solution Delivery team. My team handles all client implementations and projects. We bring our merchant’s brands to life on the CashStar platform. In addition to managing larger client projects and internal initiatives, I am an Agile SCRUM Master for our team that handles all client implementations.
What’s your favorite CashStar benefit/perk?
CashStar also offers yoga twice a week during lunch. It is great to take a break during the workday and workout. Also, couldn’t ask for better coworkers.
Where is your favorite place to eat in Portland?
My favorite restaurant in Portland is Pai Men Miyake. They have the best ramen in town. I always order the Paitan and brussel sprouts.
What are you up to when you are not at CashStar?
I am currently pursuing my MBA from Babson College in Wellesley, MA. I spend a lot of my free time studying. I’ve been an alpine skier since I was three years old. About four years ago, I moved over to telemark skiing—free the heel, free the soul! Most of my weekends are spent at Sunday River in Newry, Maine. I try to ski at least three weekends a month during the winter. When I am not skiing or studying, I spend time with Tizzy, my 13-year old Shih Tzu. She loves the beach, so I take her on a lot of sunset walks at Ferry Beach in Scarborough.
What occupation did you want to have when you were a child?
I was an avid reader and writer when I was a child. In fourth grade, I spent my recess organizing the classroom library. I was also published in the Boston Globe when I was in 2nd grade. At one point I wanted to be an actress and dancer. I loved old movies, especially anything with Shirley Temple or Ester Williams.
If you were not working in your current profession what do you think you’d be doing?
I’d love to be a detective because there is lots of problem solving. This may be because I watch a lot of Law and Order.
What excites you most about working for a SaaS provider?
I love the B2B aspect of the job because I am exposed to a wide variety of clients. It is very exciting to work and partner with some of the world’s most recognizable brands. In my role you get a glimpse into how each company works.
