  • Steven R. Boal

    Founder and Chairman

    A former Wall Street executive, Steven Boal founded Quotient, formerly Incorporated, in 1998 and is responsible for its strategic and operational direction. Steven previously served as Vice President of business development for Integral Development Corporation, a privately held financial software company in Silicon Valley. Prior to that, Steven was Vice President and head of global emerging markets derivative technology at J.P. Morgan. Prior to that he was President of OptEdge, a real-time options, analytics and risk management business. Steven also held various management positions at TriStar Market Data, most recently running the company’s Montgomery Securities division. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Albany.

  • Ben Kaplan

    President and CEO

    Ben Kaplan brings twenty years of experience to CashStar in senior operations, marketing, and product roles at software, e-commerce, loyalty marketing and payments companies. Most recently, he was Chief Operating Officer at Cartera Commerce, a leading provider of card-linked marketing solutions for merchants, banks, and loyalty programs. Prior to Cartera, Ben was Vice President of Marketing for KNOVA Software and Vice President of Marketing for North Systems, directing marketing and product management at both companies. Earlier in his career, he held product marketing and product management positions at Broadbase and Commerce One. Ben is a graduate of Harvard College.

  • Chris Winship

    Partner, FTV Capital

    Chris is a partner at FTV Capital and has over 16 years of private growth company investing experience. His primary areas of investment focus are in the payments and transaction processing, business services and outsourcing, and SAAS/software sectors. Chris currently sits on the board of directors of CardConnect, CashStar, Clearent, Credorax, Empyrean, Vindicia and WePay. Previously, Chris served on the boards or as a board observer at MedSynergies (acquired by Optum), Verus (acquired by Sage), Symbio (acquired by VXI Global) and several other FTV portfolio companies. Prior to joining FTV Capital, Chris was an investment banker in Salomon Smith Barney’s media and telecommunications group. Chris received a BA in government from Dartmouth College.

  • Alex Rampell

    General Partner, Andreessen Horowitz

    Alex is a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz. Previously, he was the CEO and cofounder of TrialPay, a leading transactional advertising and payments company serving digital goods and e-commerce clients such as Facebook, Zynga, and Gap. TrialPay was acquired by Visa in 2015. Previously, Alex cofounded FraudEliminator, the first consumer anti-phishing company which merged into SiteAdvisor and was acquired by McAfee for $75M in 2006. Prior to joining Andreessen Horowitz, Alex had been an active angel investor (Pinterest, Bloomreach, SiftScience, Wooga, and Twice, among many others) and served as an advisor to the SV Angel fund. Alex also co-founded three other companies: TXN, a survey and transactional data company; Point, a real estate marketplace; and Affirm, with Max Levchin. He holds a BA in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Harvard University.

  • Juan Scarlett

    Passport Capital

    Juan is the Managing Director of Nimble Holdings and a Consultant for Passport Capital. He has over 15 years of technology investing experience and has led investments in dozens of exciting early to growth stage private companies. Juan’s primary investment focus areas include: software/SaaS, financial technology and consumer Internet. Juan is an active board member and board observer for several early and expansion stage private technology companies. Prior to joining Nimble Holdings and Passport Capital, Juan was Director of Investments at TriplePoint Capital and, earlier in his career, an Equity Research Analyst/Associate for Crossover Venture Partners and RBC Capital Markets. Juan earned an M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley and a B.S. in Accounting from Florida A&M University.
